From Ballet To Hip Hop and Every Style In Between
Amy's School of Dance is a traveling dance company. Amy will come to your school, gym or studio and create a personally designed dance program for your company's needs. There are many different options from the styles of dance you would like to offer to the times and the length of the program. All of these can be specifically designed to work with your schedule. You will also have an option to offer a recital or in-class performance for friends and family at the end of the dance program.

Dance is a beautiful way for children to experience the arts and learn how to communicate through movement and music. After the program is set-up for your location and registration is open Amy will establish contact with the dance parents. She will handle all communication leaving you with an easy way to offer a stress free dance program to your students. Dancers receive all the perks of a traditional dance class while parents enjoy having the extra curricular activities brought to the students making their hectic life just a little easier.
Get To Know Amy
Born and raised in King George, VA I moved to Norfolk in 1999 to attend Old Dominion University. Growing up I was a competitive gymnast until the age of 12 when I discovered the art of DANCE! From my first awkward ballet class up until now I have immersed myself in every style of dance that I could get my hands on including; Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, African, Hip Hop, Step, Ballroom and Latin. Dance is a way of life; it is my passion, my soul and the way I communicate with the world.
Over the past 30 years I have had the pleasure of dancing on a Carnival Line Cruise and Disney World. I have also served as ODU Dance Team Captain and danced for the Norfolk Nighthawks, later to return as assistant coach for the ODU Dance & Cheer Teams. I have performed and choreographed many shows and videos for artist such as Vanilla Ice, Black Street, Kasual and Jonny Napp. I love the theatre and have had the chance to choreograph musicals such as “Bat Boy the Musical”. In order to help share my love of dance with my community I opened Wave Dance Studio in January 2008 currently named Amy’s School of Dance where I now take my teachings to local public and private schools, dance studios and gyms all across Hampton Roads. I have been working with Young Audiences of Virginia teaching Ballroom and Latin Dancing to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students in the public schools since 2007 bringing home the “Residency Artist of the Year” award. Now as a mother of two amazing children 17 and 14 years old I have been the “Dance Mom” and the “Dance Teacher”. It is such a rewarding job and nothing makes me more proud then to see the dancers at our final show performing on stage with their hands in dance position and their feet moving to the beat of the music, all with a smile on their face!
